climer 2026 | Applications Now Open!
We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for the next cohort of the CLIMER Programme, designed to empower young professionals to drive climate resilience through innovation in climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (CDRFI).
What Is the CLIMER Programme?
CLIMER is a training and capacity-building initiative that equips participants with both deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in CDRFI. Through a structured curriculum, participants will:
Learn the fundamentals of how CDRFI solutions function in practice, and how they can enhance climate resilience in vulnerable communities
Explore topics such as climate risk analytics, financial instruments (e.g. micro-insurance), policy and institutional integration, and social inclusion
Connect with leading experts, practitioners, and climate actors across public and private sectors through webinars, mentorship, and networking opportunities
Work in small teams to design and implement a “change project” of their own, with support from the CLIMER/MCII coordinators, and ultimately present their results to important stakeholders in the global climate space
Who Should Apply?
This opportunity is ideal for early-career professionals who:
Are passionate about strengthening climate resilience and risk finance
Want to understand how insurance and financial instruments can be applied to reduce climate vulnerabilities
Seek to build a global network, enhance their technical and leadership skills, and contribute to impactful projects
